Our strengths can also be our weaknesses and vice versa. Often, our biggest strength is also our biggest weakness.

Strengths

  1. Vision and ability to break/connect long-term goals and short-term action
  2. Critical thinking: [ a problem well-stated is a problem half solved]:
    1. Growth mindset and flexibility [ adaptability to change]: change my mind, strategies, ideas, processes…
  3. Getting things done: determination and passion
    1. Driving outcomes and motivating team
    2. Cutting wasteful processes

Weaknesses

  1. I can be emotional, argumentative, and impulsive. I believe in healthy conflicts and disagreements—disagree and commit—but emotional conversations are rarely productive. It’s the other side of being passionate. I have made significant progress in maintaining passion and energy that comes with it while maintaining healthy emotional states.
  2. Perfectionism: Perfection is the enemy of good. I keep reminding myself that DONE is better than perfect. It is about the speed of iteration, not the quality of the first attempt.
  3. Seeking to be understood before understanding others. It's always better to understand before trying to be understood. I practice daily to be a better listener.
  4. My communication style could be too direct. However, after living in the US for over twenty years, this aspect has improved significantly. I’m not less direct but I’m better with the style of communication. I’m more aware of how my message will be perceived.
